Chanel Fashion in Motion: Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel.
In November 2023, the Womenswear department at Central Saint Martins collaborated with the Victoria and Albert Museum in a fashion show to accompany the V&A exhibition on the life of Gabrielle Chanel.
After a visit to the exibition, the class was invited to produce their own fashion response to the exibit, taking inpiration from designers of the 20th century, the techniques and sillhouettes of Gabrielle Chanel as well as a look into the life of the designer. The show featured 22 garments from the class, selected by the V&A’s curation team.
